Going to that website now won't add any more money to Bristol-Myers Squibb's donation. The page has been up for several weeks and long ago they hit their target.

I've heard different opinions as to why the page is still up -- some people feel it is good and symbolic to "light a candle" even if doing so doesn't raise any new money, and some others generally feel that keeping the page up long after reaching the money target has moved one's idea of the page, in general, from "this is a good intention" to "this is now a marketing ploy".

Thats a neat site. I think out of all the problems in the world right now, aids should be our #1 concern. Its almost destroyed an entire continent. I wear my aids awarness neckless everyday, and as soon as I get enough money I would like to donate some to help solve this, but right now in this season unfortunately I have to buy the love of my family.

they should have capped that donation out alot higher than $100,000. that company makes billions, they can afford more. consitering Bristol-Myers Squibb's AIDS treatment is about $1000 a month, that contribution could pay for 8 people. i know every little bit helps, but they could do more. thats just a tax write off
