I don't know if it's true, but some bi actvitists I know claim that there are gay and lesbian activists that want to drop the "B" from LGBT.

It is, Jamie. It isn't most, but it is far too many. Just as there are those bisexuals who would like to boot the L & G into touch and probably the T... an' some gays would do that too. Queer ole world the queer world..:eek2:

Hey djones
Very interesting! Thanks for raising the consciousness of this bisexual website.
It is good that it has been noted that there has been some progress in the surveyed BGLT groups. (ranking in order of numbers of members) Our numbers alone make bisexuals special. As the article states, we outnumber the combination of all other non heteros. We do not outnumber heteros of course.
It is good that one organization that doesn’t use the B in their title got the highest score of A-. No other organzation reached an A level though and that is unfortunate.
The one fact that a staggering $5000 was spent on specific bisexual research organization out of the $77 000 000 (seventy-seven million) to LBGT programming in 2011 is very shockingly sad. It definitely shows poor service to us.
The “Bisexuals are not special” comments from heteros on this site is near tragic in its scope in adding to a tone of Bi Erasure. Certainly such thoughts promote Bi Erasure and Bi Invisibility in organizations that are failing bisexuals. Bi Erasure being actions to ignore / lower the value of bisexuals in history or it may be argued in the present society. Bi Invisibility being the systemic ignoring of bisexuals and their needs as this survey suggests. It will be interesting if the GL organizations who didn’t respond ever comment? Too busy to deal with us?
It is interesting that terms like “bi invisibility” have been pushed way back in discussions on this site. Heteros come on to this site supporting each other with comments about bisexuals not being special without hardly a complaint of their Bi Erasure tactics.
Yes, maybe bisexuals should demand that the label be changed to BGLT due to our numbers. More likely is inactivity of making such a demand though. Bisexual need a wake up shake or something. Many seem not to care to show any activism. The people claiming to be bisexual and show any activist approach are busy slurring other bisexuals as "closet queens" etc. The lack of activism has been discussed here before. Is it a a lack of knowing the discriminatory facts preventing bisexuals from uniting or the invisibility tendency? Dunno
Good for Ron Suresha for writing the article!!!
It is unclear to me who actually sponsored this survey?

lol it sounds a lil bit like NZ, djones... there is not a overwhelming unity / community with the LGBT by way of funding and support... but a lot of the issue has come from the fact that the majority of the bisexual community do not want to be misrepresented by other people... and yes I mean misrepresented, not represented.....
the bisexual community is too diverse to be represented by any one group / set of individuals...and this site is a prime example of what happens when you have people with a dream * bisexual.com * and people that want dictate the terms, definitions and rules of who can be bisexual, who is allowed to use the term bisexuals, what bisexuals can do, say and think etc etc......
so it raises the question of not so much why the bisexual community is not being represented / funded, but why the majority of bisexuals are saying * do not stand up and say that nobody represents the bisexaul community as many views, opinions and ideals of the individual representive, are not shared by the majority of the bisexual community * and they are not saying that to the LGT, they are saying that to the people that are trying to push themselves as the people that speak for bisexuals
the world is full of live, love and let us all be friends... until it comes to representation and who stands for us..... and creates the image for bisexuality as a public fiqure

If you think of heterosexuals and homosexuals within the context of the two-party system, all becomes clear. Try going to any Republicrat gathering and let them know you are an independent. Neither camp will show you any love. Furthermore, the politicizing of sexuality, is contingent upon having a victimhood narrative as do other protected minorities. Bisexuals lack a cogent history of victimhood, save for the case of bisexual men in the swinging lifestyle.

Me: Fiscally Conservative, I know the value of savings, e.g., otherwise everyone reading this would now OWE me because I am retired, yet...you DON"T owe me a THING! I don't even rate social security! And. You never will owe me. I love you all so much that I saved for 40-years so as NOT to be a burden. BUT. That's mere finances. As a God-given human, I am a TOTAL LIBERTARIAN when it comes (or "cums:" has sex, however way, and yeah we oldies still "do it," etc.) to social values. AND. I believe in God: I prefer to give the old boy the benefit of the doubt; after all, He gave me the original freedoms; until someone proves otherwise, or until the ancient aliens return and...whatever. SO...I LOVE MY FREEDOMS! And! Leave mankind's KING, or King's pundits, or King's surrogates, or non-King's whatever's, or Queens, OUT of my private life and freedoms. All of it. I like my freedoms: scratch crotch, drink, sex - whatever "sex from whomever, whatever" - however I may choose to enjoy it. OUT! I own a handgun, Biden's shot gun, a k-Bar, a machete, an axe, a baseball bat, etc. Aghast! Fear not! I am sane and thoroughly backgrounded-checked, and harmless, harmless assuming you, whomever reads this, are, too. Otherwise. OUT! Aghast! I like to smoke, or chew, now and then. OUT! I like a big soft drink, now and then. OUT! I enjoy big fattening pizzas, now and then. OUT! I like to fuckin' cuss, now and then. OUT! I run everyday. OUT! And. Occasionally I make impolitic remarks, now and then. So. OUT! Will Drew now throw me...OUT?! (Note to Drew: if you do, throw me out, I am sorry for my impolitic recalcitrance, in advance, of being so, irate?...but the "B" in LGBT is as important to me as the "LGT's", but...hey, folks: why isn't it: SLGBT? Or just Kinsey be damned? It's too complicated to say: Hey. I'm a faithful "H" with a dash of "B."
