Bi Guy Fashionisto?
I probably know the results of this question and it is a possible stereotype except that I don't know if the general populace has created too many bisexual stereotypes for clothing sense.
I would state that as a stereotype that gay men have more fashion concern/dress habits than heteromen. It may be more specific to young gay men? (of course we all know that stereotypes are there to be destroyed but for fun consider...:tong:)
At any point in your life, if you are a bisexual man, do you see yourself as a guy interested in fashion or how you look?(maybe a bit more than you'd like to admit at times ;)) Have there been certain points in your life where you reflect back and see your self as a clothes horse? Or do you see yourself not concerned about what underwear you have on , or shoes or ? ever what ever age that you were?
This is intended to be somewhat light hearted and self reflective of various eras of your life.

In my own case, I find that my style sense is getting more and more I don't give a fly'n f*ck about style. I use to but that was when I had a professional day job and spent some thought in my presentation.
As an artist, there are some stereotypes about us as far as how we present ourselves as "unique". There was a time when many of the artists in my area and a bit beyond use to wear black a lot. It was almost a uniform. Strangely, there was conformity of being a kewl artist in the know which is the opposite of society expectation of artists. In reality, most artists that I know rarely dress too outrageous but like myself may put some slightly different item on that says "I'm not a banker"...I'm not a 9-5 worker. Some younger artists do dress "individualistically" just after or during their schooling years though.
I digressed a bit but then maybe other parts of your life outside of our sexuality give more input into our fashion sense?(probably). So I'm not sure if it is my artsie side that makes me still look for just one little thing that deviates from everyone else or my sexuality or ? I recall a young guy stating that since he decided that he was bi that he paid more attention to certain clothing items....underwear being the one that he changed his emphasis about. He looked for underwear that emphasised his bulge more..lol
In part, I think that any fashion sense that I had has gone as I've become more comfortable about my sexuality or maybe it is not having a day job anymore.

My basic style of dress was set early on---with it being basically being "preppy" wearing "polo" or button down collared dress shirts depending on the season or situation. I like khaki styles of trousers for the most part.
At times I did have to wear suits and with them--prefer "banker" style with them being made of wool, blue or grey in color with subtle stripes or for summer----suits made of khaki style cloth in beige or an olive green---Joseph A. Banks makes a great line of suits in this style.
I also do like to wear some sharp sport coats, done in varying fabrics, often silk or silk like material and in varying patterns and colors with them tending to be lighter material since I often would wear these during the warmer months and along with khaki style slacks---also like to wear them with a nice pair of jeans.
I guess it was "a southern thang," but I do like seersucker material and have a few sport coats made with that material.
For shoes----I alternate between cordovan colored tassel loafers, buck sole shoes with light and dark tan colors, and these days--I live in boat deck shoes at least when its warm---very soon I will have to pull out the snow boots!!! Uuuggh!!!!
Most of the time though--I am comfortable in jeans, nice shorts, t-shirts and the polo type of shirts. I also have a nice collection of "fishing" shirts in a variety of bright pastel colors. I also like "Hawaiian" style shirts too.
Really--I am not a formal person so I prefer a more casual style. I want to look good--but really stress comfort over style.
I was never a big one for cutting edge, uber trendy fashion and looks. I sure as hell didn't care about being some sort of trend setter when it comes to fashion--in fact I am about the direct opposite of that--I prefer "timeless and classic" styles over the newest, latest thing.
I no longer do anything that require me to wear business suits and I would be really happy if I never wore one ever again. Even though ties can look good and I still have a collection of some really cool ones--I sure as heck don't want to have to put one of those things back on, too!!!
Actually though--if I had my druthers--I would really like to live life as "nudely" as possible and would only wear clothes at a bare :) minimum--only putting something on when its too cold to be naked, someone comes to visit who is uncomfortable with nudity, I am doing some work that it is safest to be dressed or I have to go out and about doing things in the world.

cool topic
tenni, that stereotype is often born out amongst my 30something friends: but a lot of it is to do with the fact that my gay friends have more disposable income than my married straight friends who have kids (and alimony payments ;))
also some clothing/design manufacturers aggressively target gay men with images of 'perfect' male bodies that they can be or that they can fuck (if they buy their products). Marketing for straight men is different.
My dress sense changes depending on the state of my body rather than which way im swinging. When I slow down during the winter and eat more I tend to prefer loose clothes, tracksuit trousers, hoodies etc. I always aim for a summer with clothes that are more fitted because im generally more into my fitness then. having said that i haven't bought an item of clothing that wasn't socks and pants in 2 years.

I go for the 'comfortable so I'm wearing it!' look.
Except for when I need to make an effort because what I look like matters to someone. Then it's a case of 'get away with this?' look.lol
Nope! No fashion sense nor desire for it. I just couldn't be bothered. I do have a black raincoat that gets shiny in the rain and I think I look like something out of The Matrix in it.lol But it keeps me dry even if I look a right dick, so win win there.lol

I have no sense of fashion whatsoever. It's quite tragic really.
On the bright side, conforming to stereotypes is so painfully dull.
